Rise of the superpower: What you need to know about China Accounting & Tax, 24 November 2010
This half day seminar at M Hotel led by our Ross Limjoco, Business Transaction Services Director and Rainbow Chen, Senior Tax Manager was designed to cover relevant key updates to China Accounting and Tax. The intimate small-group setting of 30 attendees were also treated to a panel discussion from expert pracitioners: Mr Jong Vong Hoo, CFO Youcan Foods and Mr Ong Wei Jin, Partner, Colin Ng & Partners.

BDO Financial Reporting Standards Update 2010, 29 September 2010
This well attended one day seminar at M Hotel was designed to cover key changes to the Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and Interpretations of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (INT FRS). In addition, this seminar highlighted key matters that attendees needed to be aware of with regards to the upcoming stand-alone financial reporting framework – SFRS for SMEs as well as upcoming changes in FRS.

Asia Pacific Regional Tax Conference, 19 August 2010
This year’s annual Asia Pacific Regional Tax Conference was held at M Hotel. This full day conference saw speakers from BDO Asia offices giving attendees an in-depth understanding of the evolving tax and regulatory environment in the various countries in the region. Attendees were equipped on planning their tax strategies in the region.

ACCA Career Evening 2010, 3 August 2010
Organised especially for ACCA affiliates and members at the HDB Hub Convention Centre, this exclusive event featured prominent public accounting firms, and was a prime opportunity for graduates to network and interact with potential employers.
Participants got to hear first-hand from representatives from BDO who provided an insight into the career prospects available to aspiring accountants in a public accounting firm. There was also a Q & A session for participants to clear doubts and gain a better understanding of the skills necessary for a successful career in accounting.

China Roundtable, 3 June 2010
BDO Tax Advisory played host to clients at a China Roundtable led by our China Tax Senior Manager, Rainbow Chen on 3 June 2010, at our boardroom. In this interactive and informative session, various tax issues exclusive to PRC tax were shared and discussed. BDO clients were able to raise the various issues they encountered when dealing with PRC tax and have their questions answered.

ACCA Graduation Ceremony, 15 May 2010

International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and BDO Advisory organised a Roundtable session to share how F&B companies grow and internationalise through mergers and acquisitions (M&As). This Roundtable brings together experienced practitioners in the field covering advisory and financing issues. The IRAS and IE Singapore practitioners shared their insights on available government schemes that support and encourage M&A activity.
