Financial Institutions Fraud Forum, 1 December 2009
The world is no longer what it was before the financial crisis. Previous risk management techniques and internal controls do not appear to be relevant anymore.
BDO is proud to be the Official Strategic Partner to the forum which was organised by ICFE Consultancy Group Pte Ltd. This event was designed
to empower financial institutions with the necessary strategies and measures to overcome the challenges in the financial services sectors beyond 2009.
One of the key highlights of the forum involved the critical role of internal audit, compliance and risk management in the new paradigm shift
into fraud risk management.
The forum was very successful and attracted delegates from both local and overseas financial institutions. Delegates were able to bring back with them,
useful tips and knowledge about fraud risk management.

Walk the Extra Mile with Me at Orchard, 21 November 2009
BDO is proud to support the Children’s Charities Association (CCA) in the effort for fund raising for a few children charity organisation in its
iconic walkathon at Orchard.
The walkathon attracted over 1,000 participants. The Guest-of-Honour was Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, Minister of Community Development, Youth & Sport.
Among corporate participants this year, BDO Managing Partner Frankie Chia received a token of appreciation presented by the Minister.

Financial Reporting Standards: Updates 2009, 11 September 2009
In view of the recent changes in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and Interpretations of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (INT FRS)
issued by the Accounting Standards Council (ASC), this one-day seminar is designed:
