BDO appoints new member firm in Saudi Arabia
BDO, the world's fifth largest accountancy network, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member firm in Saudi Arabia, effective 1 January 2010.
Currently known as Dr Al-Amri & Co, the new BDO firm in Saudi Arabia was founded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1979, and has offices in
Dammam and Riyadh serving clients all around Saudi. The firm's fee income has shown steady increases year on year, with a 21% growth from 2007 to 2008.
Assurance services account for 78% of their fee income, with business consulting and tax services accounting for 6% each, together with expertise
in due diligence, internal audit, accounting and other services.
Managing Partner Dr Mohamed Al-Amri sees great potential for the firm's future with BDO: "Our mission is to be the premier accounting and
consulting firm in our country, with a reputation for superior quality services and for contributing to the development and growth of the
accounting and consulting professions. Although there are no official rankings at national level, we are recognised to be fifth in size in our market,
and we act for approximately 10% of the companies listed on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange.
"These facts, together with our firmly-held values based on quality, honesty, confidentiality of client information and professional due care, give us great synergy with BDO".
Jeremy Newman, CEO of BDO International, says "The standing and reputation of the firm founded by Dr Al-Amri was what brought him and his
colleagues to our attention. Their client list includes some large clients that are well-known Saudi Arabian conglomerates and they regularly
feature alongside our largest competitors in tender situations. The strength of our network is in its strong, national roots and clearly Saudi Arabia
is an important country. It is critical for the development of our business in the Middle East that we continue to have a robust firm in the Kingdom.
"I am confident that the new BDO firm in Saudi can bring their deep understanding of local business needs and national regulations to bear
and collaborate effectively with the other BDO firms in the Middle East to deliver the best possible professional advice to clients right across the region".
